Jessica Brand | A Cookbook Club Founder

It’s an honor to be here with you.

The fact that you found this site and are on this page tells me that you love to cook and that you are curious about cookbook clubs. Your heart jumps for joy at the idea of starting one, but your mind is weighed down with doubts and fearful thoughts. I’ve been there too. It’s not for me to decide whether or not you should launch your own cookbook club. But what I can do—and what I promise to do—is present as much information on the subject as I possibly can. My hope is to help you feel empowered to make a clear decision where both your heart and mind are in harmonious union.

This site (and my forthcoming Podcast) is designed to be an in-depth resource and much more. May it give you the inspiration and encouragement that you need to build a vibrant group in your corner of the world. I am the cheerleader on the sidelines celebrating you and your efforts.

You might not have the desire to create your own cookbook club, and that’s perfectly fine. Yet, you love the idea enough to share this site with a friend who might just be the perfect person to take on such a task. I invite you to forward this URL to that dear friend and spread the cookbook club love. You will be playing an instrumental role in his or her life, and the lives of everyone involved, by deeply enriching their life experience. The potential impact you have is profound, and I cherish you for it.

The Book

Another reason this website exists is because the first ever cookbook club book is in the works. While there’s a ton of useful information living on this website, there is so much more that can be expounded upon. In addition to an in-depth guide on how to start and run a cookbook club, I’ll be interviewing dozens of cookbook club leaders from around the world. Everyone runs their group differently and much can be learned from them and their experience.

If you’re interested in learning more about the book and want to be among the first to know about its launch, I invite you to subscribe to my official email list. Below is a secure subscription form for you to sign up. As a gesture of my appreciation, I will send you a printable checklist (pdf) to help you get your group started. A lot goes into starting a cookbook club; my checklist will help keep you on track and organized.

How to Use the Website

There’s a lot of information presented on this site, so I encourage you to set aside some time to read through it. All of the details you need to know prior to launching a cookbook club are here on this site. The Journal section of the site, and on my social media channels (@acookbookclub) are where I’ll post stories, pictures from my own cookbook club, book and recipe reviews, and event ideas as an ongoing source of inspiration for you and your group. I’m always experimenting with food-themed events and trying out unique venues for my group. It’s an honor to be able to share my experience with you.

Don’t Be a Stranger

I don’t want this to be a one-side conversation or relationship. If you’re running your own group or getting one started, I want to hear from you! I’m always eager to see what others are doing, what they’re learning, and hear how their lives have been impacted by their cookbook club. Please email me directly at jessica @ acookbookclub.com. People like YOU amaze me and fill my heart with so much joy. I hope we can foster a connection online. Don’t worry, I don’t bite!
